Happy Back to the Future Day!

(Photo vulture.com)

Well Scrap Fans, today is the day that Marty McFly traveled to in the 1989 blockbuster Back to the Future Part II.  Although we’re not all whipping around on hover boards and flying cars, I think it’s safe to say, we’ve come a long way from the technology of 1989.  And I can say with certainty, my scrapbooking has come a long way since then….

I recently wrote about how my aunt made me a scrapbook with newspaper clippings from the day I was born.  I pulled it out this weekend to take pictures and cracked up when I saw this:

But as funny as this is, it is actually a great reminder and validation of why I love scrapbooking so much.  Of course I realize how much technology has advanced in my almost 40 years, but seeing a picture of a calculator with a caption “lots of school kids are using these hand computers” really drives it home.  It’s a great reminder of why it is so rewarding to  take the time to document the little things.

So while I may have to wait a few more years for my hover board or garbage powered DeLoren time machine, I do have my iPhone and maybe I'll scrapbook about it so I can see what technology makes it look like an antiquated piece of junk in another forty years!

Until next time, Happy Scrappin’!!
