I don't normally buy overtly themed collection, but I really like the color pallet in this one and I thought there were enough neutral patterns to make it worth it. I held on to it for awhile, waiting for right time to use it. In February, my mom had a sled riding party at her house and I took lots of pictures. The first one that caught my eye was one I took of my daughter and I immediately knew I wanted to use it to document her current favorite things. I asked her some questions, typed the journaling, saved it in my computer and forgot about it for awhile.
After I took Shimelle's class, I was prompted to pull out this collection and thought about the picture and journaling I had in mind. Even though the journaling was unrelated to the winter theme, the photo worked well. Here is the layout I made:
Since my mojo was flowing, I decided to keep scrapping and since the sled riding party photos fit so well with the collection, I kept going with it.
I made this layout as a double page spread and used a pocketed page protector for the second page. It allowed me to use some of the 3x4 cut apart cards and stickers.
When I was done with the sled pics, I still had a few pieces of pattern paper that weren't too themey so I used it to make this layout of our trip to the art museum.
I used a solid sheet of cardstock for my background and layered up the remaining pattern paper and a border sticker and punched some embellishments from the remaining papers. I printed my journaling on cardstock and cut it into strips.
When it was all said and done, all that remained was a few small scraps and some stickers.
It felt really good to use up almost and entire collection and scrap a lot of photos I've been wanting to get in my album. I hope you have been inspired to use a whole collection pack. Until next time, Happy Scrappin'!!
