Williamsburg Day Three

Hey Scrap Fans! I'm still here in not-so-sunny Williamsburg and it's day three. Today's weather called for rain around three, so we planned our outdoor activity in the morning, and the 4-D movie theater for the afternoon.  We had breakfast in the room and then headed to Go-Karts Plus.

Libby was the first to ride the little go carts.

It was funny to see the difference in her between this year and last. This year she had a lot more confidence and drove a lot faster.

Next we moved on to the Nascar cars. Andy decided I should ride with Libby since he rode last year and she needed an adult. He said then he could take pictures of me.  As soon as I got in the car, I realized why he didn't want to go.

I felt like I was laying on the floor and I could barely get my seat belt on.

This was me asking the attendant if I was supposed to be down this low and he assured me that it was the way the car was made and when he put the roof down, I would be able to see better. Libby looked up at the sky and said "Lord, I appreciate the seven years you have given me on this earth." She apparently had little confidence in me.

(That's Abby in the car behind us looking miserable)

Once everyone was settled, away we went!

Although it wasn't as easy to drive as I thought it should be, we did manage to hold our own.

Abby

My dad. (You'll have to take my word for it.

Finally, they called last lap, and we made our way back to the pitt.  I think the hardest part was getting myself out of the car!

Next we headed over to the Disc-o ride. I wish I would have taken a wider angle shot of this ride, so you  could fully appreciate the absurdity and terror of this ride. Nevertheless, my seven-year-old wanted to ride it. And even though she is too young to steer a car, that is firmly fixed to the ground and controlled remotely by attendants, she was apparently just fine to ride this swinging, spinning disc of death.

Riders sit forward and hold on to a bar. Another bar comes up behind them and rests against their back.

The disc then begins to rock back and forth on a half moon track, high up in the sky.

Then it starts spinning as it's rocking.

Ah, to be young again....

Next we moved on to the bumper cars. While my mom hid in the air conditioned arcade, I took pictures of my dad, Abby, Andy and Libby ramming into each other repeatedly. I think it was therapeutic for all involved.

After the bumper cars, we moved on to the final ride at the figure eight track. Libby and Andy ride together and my dad and Abby each rode in a car.

For awhile my dad took the lead, just ahead of Andy and Libby.

Abby was in a race of her own.

After awhile, my dad decided he'd rather ride longer than faster and fell behind. Andy was determined to pull ahead of the little kid in the yellow car, but the limitations of the carts just wouldn't let him.

After Go-Karts Plus, we headed back to the room and made cheeseburgers and fries for lunch. It started to rain really hard and my mom, dad and Abby all fell asleep. Andy, Libby and I headed out in the rain and went to Target. We got Libby a new outfit for the first day of school. We left Target and headed to find Tuesday Morning, but as soon as we got there, my parents called and said they were up, so we left and met them at Ripley's for the 4-D movies.

We saw one of the movies last year, but we enjoyed them so much, we watched it again, plus the other one we hadn't seen yet. I don't know what I enjoyed more, the movie itself, or listening to my parents and Libby react and laugh and scream.

After the movies, we headed back to Tuesday Morning, where I found some great scrappy deals. There was lots of packs of paper, American Crafts paper pads, glitter and more. I had to reel myself in a couple of times and really thing about what I knew I would and wouldn't use.  I ended up spending a little over $50 and here's what I got:

On our way back to the resort, we stopped at Cook Out for some drive thru bar-b-que and milkshakes. Cook Out was one of our favorite places to frequent when we lived in North Carolina and it had been years since I had it. (Apparently Andy had it last year when he was at a school in South Carolina) We brought it back to the condo and hung out the rest of the night.

Libby and my mom enjoyed the jacuzzi filled with bubbles.

Despite the rain, it was another good day in Williamsburg. We checked some more activities off our list, and enjoyed the area. I started to print out some pictures to start scrapping, but I came to the conclusion that I'm gong to incorporate this trip into my regular project life album and have my photos printed all at once after the trip. I'll continue to blog the details and when I get home it should all come together pretty quickly. I feel better now that I have a plan! Until tomorrow, Happy Scrappin'!!
